In April of 2023, my family and I embarked on a relaxing holiday to the beautiful city of Graz, Austria. We arrived on Friday the 4th and stayed for two nights, leaving on the morning of the 9th. Our visit was packed with unforgettable experiences, from exploring the city’s historic landmarks to enjoying the local cuisine and culture.

One of the highlights of our trip was our visit to the clock tower and schlossberg. The clock tower is a stunning medieval tower that stands tall in the heart of Graz’s old city. Climbing up the tower was an adventure in itself, with narrow spiral staircases and breathtaking views of the city from the top. Schlossberg, the hill on which the clock tower stands, was also a must-see. We were rewarded with stunning views of the city and the surrounding countryside.

We also spent a lot of time exploring Graz’s old city area, which is full of history and charm. We took beautiful photos from the main square, admiring the intricate architecture of the buildings and the lively atmosphere of the area. We were also delighted to come across many street musicians during our visit, providing us with a soundtrack to our adventures.

One of our favorite parts of the trip was visiting the Murisland and the Mur River. The Mur River runs through the city and is a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. We walked along the riverbank and admired the beautiful architecture of the buildings that line the river.

We also had the opportunity to experience the local culture through the street market, which presented the local handcrafts of Graz. It was a great way to immerse ourselves in the local culture and try something new. Once in the city, we used the public transportation system, including the Graz street tram, to explore the different parts of the city.

In addition to our other adventures, we also visited the Frida & Fred Graz Child Museum, which was a perfect destination for our son. The exhibition at the museum was all about animal houses and their unique architectural features. Our son had the chance to learn about the different types of animal houses, from snail shells to bird nests. He even got to try his hand at building his own house using various materials and tools, which was a fun and educational experience for him. Overall, it was a great opportunity for our family to learn about the fascinating world of animal architecture.

We also visited a Persian restaurant in the old city of Graz, which was a highlight of our culinary experience. The restaurant, which was decorated with Persian rugs and traditional artwork, had a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu offered a variety of delicious Persian dishes, such as kebabs and stews, which were bursting with exotic flavors and spices. It was a unique and memorable dining experience that we highly recommend to anyone visiting Graz.

Overall, our two-night stay in Graz was a fantastic experience that we will always cherish. From the historic landmarks to the local culture and cuisine, the city offered a wealth of unique experiences that we will never forget. It was the perfect way to escape the stress of everyday life and spend quality time together as a family. We look forward to returning to Graz in the future to create more memories.
