Hey there, folks! Let me spin you my memories about an awesome rafting trip down the Vltava river in Check republic. So, picture this – it’s June 21, 2023, and I’m in the delightful cities of Ceske Budejovice and Cesky Krumlov as world heritage city. How did I end up there, you ask? Well, my buddy Vuk shot me an invitation I couldn’t refuse. The plan? A new rafting adventure!
I kicked off my journey from Sankt Valentin, hopped on a train, and landed in Ceske Budejovice. My gang’s rendezvous point was Restaurace Masné krámy – yep, that’s where the whole raucous adventure began. Now, picture this bunch – young guns, some seasoned souls (including this lovely older couple), all bound by the thrill of hitting the river.
Our group had a groovy Italian vibe – most of them hailed from the land of pizza and amore. After a cozy rendezvous at the restaurant, we decided to dive into the vibrant nightlife of Ceske Budejovice. The night was a blast, but rest was on the menu too – we needed energy for the big day ahead.
Next morning, 8:00 a.m., Cesky Krumlov. I was an eager beaver, the first one there, so I roamed the charming streets, inhaled the sights, and got a taste of the local breakfast scene (those spherical cakes with sweet cream? A true delight).
Soon, the gang rolled in by bus. We connected with the rafting crew, got our boats, safety jackets, and pedals. Imagine this – three boats, six adventurers each, ready to conquer the river.
Now, the river safari lasted around 9 hours, starting at 9:00 a.m. and wrapping up at 6:00 p.m. We had pit stops aplenty, scenic spots with little joints to munch on local grub. Oh, and our boat? Pure joy. We turned into pirates, swashbuckling through the waves, laughing like kids.
But here’s the real juice – a girl from another boat took a tumble into the river! Don’t worry, the water was gentle, and she swam back with a grin. We met loads of fellow paddlers, shared laughs, and stories.
The Vltava river, my friends, is a star. Not too deep, no room for motorboats, just pedal-powered boats, kayaks, and rafts, all having a blast. There were floating stations selling everything from drinks to munchies – perfect for river wanderers like us.
The landscape? A beauty! Paddling was a breeze, six of us in sync with the river’s rhythm (but not always! Sometimes we make a 360° spin!). And the best part? Energetic and friendly atmosphere between group members! After our watery escapade, we headed back to Ceske Budejovice, my muscles intact, my heart brimming with stories.
So, you ask me, was it a blast? Oh heck, yes! A wild, wet, and wonderful journey down the Vltava river. And you know what? I couldn’t wait to get back, but first, there was a special visit planned with my son. Stay tuned, adventure lovers! 🚣♂️🌊
